How it works

How to use Motoseyir, start to finish

This page is the long version of Settings → “How it works” inside the app: same topics, same order. Tap a heading to open it, tap again to close.

Quick start

  1. On the Start tab, type in the field at the top and pick a suggestion → the destination is added and the route is drawn.
  2. Start on the card at the bottom → navigation opens and the strip at the top shows the next manoeuvre.
  3. Tap Start recording on the Record tab, or choose Record ride in the ⋯ menu during navigation → the ride recording starts; the record button that shows while it runs ends it.
  4. On the My Tours tab, type a name and tap Create → you start building your multi-stop tour.
  5. Settings → Redeem an App Store offer code: if you have an App Store offer code (a gift from us, for example), redeem it here.
Route▾
  • Type in the field at the top and pick a suggestion → the destination is added; anything after the second one becomes a multi-stop route.
  • Tap a place name on the map → its card opens, and you add it from the chip inside the card.
  • Long-press an empty spot on the map → it asks whether to make that point a destination or a stop.
  • The sign button on the right → switches between Shortest (fewest kilometres) and Back roads (side roads instead of motorways and toll roads).
  • Best order on a multi-stop route → the stops are arranged for the shortest total riding distance.
  • While navigating, the frame button on the right → the rest of the route fits on screen; a second tap brings the camera back to the bike.
Tours▾
  • In My Tours, type a name and tap Create → an empty tour opens; you add stops by searching or by long-pressing the map.
  • The mode button at the top left → switches between Standard, Back roads and Coast (the last two are Pro).
  • From GPX or With a code → a track from a file lands on the Trail tab, a tour from a friend’s code on the Tours tab.
  • Tap a route on the Legendary tab → the ready-made route is copied into your own tours.
  • The Discover tab of a tour → lists the coves, campsites, places to eat, fuel stops and passes around it (the search is Pro).
  • Start the tour → the stops are handed to navigation in order, and you pick up where you left off.
Ride recording▾
  • Start recording on the Record tab → the track, speed and elevation are collected; recording continues with the screen off.
  • Record ride in the ⋯ menu during navigation → starts the same recording out on the road; while it runs, a second tap on the record button ends it.
  • Pause and Resume → the recording stops and picks up where it left off; End segment closes that leg and starts a new one (long breaks close it by themselves).
  • Send the recording to the group → from the card that appears when the ride ends, or from the ride card; your group sees your track, distance and time.
  • Finish and save → you get a summary of distance, time, speed and elevation, and the ride joins the My Rides list.
  • Save this ride as a trail and Export as GPX on the ride card → the track becomes a tour, or a file you can share.
Journal▾
  • When you reach a stop → that stop is written into the Journal tab by itself.
  • Add photo on the stop row → you shoot one with the camera or pick one from the gallery.
  • Add note → you write your own note for that stop.
  • Photos that reach the journal show up as mini cards on the tour map → tap one to open it full screen.
  • Photos and notes are kept even if you start the tour over.
Group ride▾
  • The group button on the Start tab → Create a group (Pro), or type a friend’s code and Join the group (free).
  • Share the code → whoever opens the link joins the same group.
  • The Show my location switch → your location is shared only while a ride recording or navigation is running, and it is deleted from the server when the ride ends.
  • Open under Active routes → the route your friend is riding opens on your phone too.
  • Shared recordings → the rides your group has sent; Add to my tours makes one of them your own tour.
  • Remove recording from the group takes back one you sent; recordings are deleted by themselves after 14 days.
Intercom▾
  • While a group route is being ridden the intercom asks once → accept and the audio goes only to your group, and is never recorded.
  • Start the intercom without a route → you join your group’s voice room even when there is no route at all.
  • The intercom pill in navigation → one tap mutes your own microphone, another turns it back on.
  • The speaker button in the member list → mutes that rider in your ear only; the rest of the group still hears them.
  • Pair your helmet or headset over Bluetooth → the audio comes through it and you talk without touching the phone.
Community▾
  • Choose a username on the Community tab → you join without an email or a password.
  • The pencil at the top right → you share the tours you created yourself, plus your ride recordings.
  • Ready-made routes and tours received from someone else cannot be shared → the picker states the reason under the row.
  • Your first post goes through moderator approval → while it waits it shows with an Awaiting approval badge.
  • The country filter → only tours from the countries you pick stay in the feed.
  • The three-dot menu on a card → you report the post or block the user.
Settings▾
  • Appearance → colour theme and app language.
  • Map → layer (standard or satellite), map theme, rain radar and the navigation marker: Supersport, Chopper, Maxi scooter, Touring, Arrow, Helmet.
  • Riding → voice guidance (including the short mode), fuel consumption and price, tank range, speed camera alerts, next turn on the Lock Screen, the battery saver screen; the savings report is worked out from the fuel values.
  • Redeem an App Store offer code → Apple’s own code screen opens; enter the code and Pro turns on right away.
  • Write to us from the Support row → you see the reply in the same place; the Instagram row announces new features.
  • Turn the phone to landscape → cards and lists gather on the left and the map takes the rest; navigation works the same way.
